Will Gnats Contaminate Brf Cakes?

I accept fungus gnats simply they don't seem to do anything bad to my cakes. volition they eventually practice something or will they do something bad to the fruits? I have picked fruits in tin foil with holes big enough for xx gnats at a time to become through but they don't seem to mess with my fruits at all, even afterward they have sat for a week even 2 weeks. So the question is, why are they and so bad and what will they do to my cakes and or fruits?

I'd think they could spread leaner into and around your fruiting sleeping accommodation. Remember about how gross house flies are germ wise

They molest the cakes, the maggots consume the myc, and they driblet off mold and bacteria and other things that could eat your cakes.

that's the main reason I am worried considering two of my cakes got contaminated and they are in a clean room. One of my theories is that the gnats carried trich. into the tote considering this is the second affluent, I have shoes that were bought, sanitized and have never seen the outside of the room also at the store and the trip to the room. I sanitize my clothes and hands before ever going in at that place, I wear gloves if I always bear upon the cakes and they notwithstanding got contaminated and the but difference is the gnats. volition the gnats really eat the fruits when they are pocket-size, eventually preventing growth? Will they swallow the hyphal knots( I don't know how to spell that)and if they exercise why do they not eat the fruits? Is the all-time way to become rid of them just to become 1 or 2 fly strips?

brettobean, your abound area / fruiting chamber doesn't have to exist sterile, in fact it shouldn't be. I'm guessing that in your efforts to exist compulsively clean, yous are preventing proper fresh air commutation, and that's why you got trich.

Regarding fungus gnats, they won't do much harm, they're simply there for some gratuitous nutrient. If it's a bad infestation you lot tin can buy some of those 'yellow sticky traps' which will dramatically reduce their numbers.

i get a few here and there, i just spray them with the h2o and they drown easily lol.

They could become bad/overpopulated, but they usually do not practice much harm.
If you terminate growing for a few weeks they volition usually go away.

I get them in my house, usually when we bring in a new houseplant. I believe that they are carried in, in the soil. I keep my babies in a make clean room that is off limits to everyone simply me. I've just found ane of the little buggers in in that location and I squashed it with piffling or no remorse. They can spread contams as well every bit Annihilation else, and so when I discover an outbreak, I place a saucer of vineger on the kitchen counter or near the new houseplant. They are attracted to it even though they tin can not swim...

BrandNewbie, what kind of vinegar do you use. Is it apple cider or white vinegar? Or does information technology even affair?
